Over time working with photos you collect a lot of random photo sites. Some of them demand their own post, but others are useful but don’t necessarily require that sort of attention. So, to that end, I’m creating this post to collect them.

Here goes:

• DPReview - a digital photo review site also with great forums. Probably the best place to go for camera reviews.
• photo.net - general photo site with some very useful forums.
• photocamel.com - ditto, general photo site with some very useful forums.

Here’s a friend’s motorcyle photo web site:

He goes to all sorts of motorcycle shows and takes pictures of vintage motorcycle photos, giving a people a chance to see all sorts of cool motorcycles that you wouldn’t otherwise have a chance to.

Worth taking a look at.

LIFE and Google have teamed together to create an archive of millions of LIFE images stretching from the 1750s to modern times:

The images are stored at remarkably high resolution and most were never published.

It really is a pretty astounding archive.

On the other hand, it looks like LIFE will be creating some sort of archive of their own here:

http://www.life.com/Life

Perhaps the two will be merged someday…
